Seasonal Produce

We specialize in fresh market, soil grown, produce. Grain crops, like alfalfa and barley, are included in our crop rotations (as are cover crops, of course), but great-tasting fresh produce is what we’re known for. Our main crops include asparagus, cherry tomatoes, watermelon, and winter squash (all organically grown in the soil and sunshine of Yolo County, California).

If there’s something you’d like us to grow for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out! We have contract grown for processors, distributors, wholesalers, seed companies, CSAs, and our local food bank.

Harvest Calendar

Spring

Spring at Durst Organic Growers means asparagus. We are one of the few remaining asparagus growers in Northern California; the fresh juicy spears popping out of our fields in spring are such a treat. In addition to asparagus, we also grow sugar snap peas as one of our main spring crops.

Summer

Cherry tomatoes and red seedless watermelon make up the bulk of our harvests in Summer. While those are our two big summer crops, we also grow mixed melons, green beans, peppers, heirloom tomatoes and a smattering of other small crops.

Fall

As Fall creeps in, tomato and melon harvests begin to slow, and we start bringing in the winter squash from our fields. We grow several varieties including butternut, sugar pie pumpkins, spaghetti, and a few specialty squashes like honeynut, kabocha, and delicata.
